- 1
Saturate a cotton swab with an acetone-based nail polish remover.
- 2
Dab the cotton swab onto the Super Glue and wait a few seconds for the glue to soften. Use a toothbrush or rag to scrub the glue off the surface, dabbing with acetone as the glue re-hardens.
- 3
Wash the surface with warm, soapy water to remove any traces of glue or acetone still present. Rinse thoroughly by placing the surface under running water or by wiping with a wet rag.
- 4
Dry the area using a soft dry cloth.

How to Remove Super Glue With Acetone
Cyanoacrylate glues, like the Super Glue and Instant Krazy Glue brands, adhere with an acrylic resin that bonds to the water molecules in surfaces. Because these glues bond almost instantly -- by forming something akin to a plastic mesh between two surfaces -- and because the bonds they form are so strong, removing the glue can be tricky. Luckily acetone, which is found in most nail polish removers, dissolves the resin bond that Super Glue forms and allows for fairly easy removal.
