Strategy Guide for "Max Payne 2"

"Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max" players are faced with multiple enemies and modes of difficulty. The right combination of weapons, items, tactics and special abilities must be used to see Max to the finish.
  • Weapons

    • Throughout the game Max will come across various firearms including shotguns, handguns and explosives. Some weapons like the assault rifle are better suited for handling multiple incoming targets while making a quick switch to an explosive might get you out being cornered as it can kill multiple targets on impact.

    Watch Your Meters

    • Max Payne has two meters that players need to monitor throughout the game. One is the pain meter, which builds up as you take fire from enemies. Once it reaches capacity, take some pain killers or avoid action to reduce it. The other meter shows you how much bullet time you can use. Bullet time slows the game down and lets you easily pick off numerous enemies while avoiding their fire.

    Dropped Items

    • After clearing a room or area, first check the bodies to see if they have dropped any items. Also, use this as a chance to look behind crates or for hidden paths that will lead you to weapons or items that are otherwise hard to find. Once you join the next instance of combat, you won't be able to go back.
