1.3L Engine Torque Specs

  A 1.3-liter engine has been used in many vehicles, including the performance-oriented 2010 Mazda RX-8, the economical 1998 Suzuki Swift and the green 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid. Each vehicle uses a 1.3-liter engine, but each has different applications. The results are a wide range of torque specifications.

2007 Honda Civic Hybrid

• In the 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid, the 1.3-liter, inline four-cylinder engine is coupled with an electric motor to provide gas mileage of up to 51 miles per gallon on the highway. The maximum torque is rated at 123 pound-feet at 2,500 rpm.

1998 Suzuki Swift

• The 1.3-liter engine found in the 1998 Suzuki Swift is also inline four-cylinder setup, but it has no additional power sources. The engine produces 75 pound-feet of torque at 3,000 rpm.

2010 Mazda RX-8

• The 2010 Mazda RX-8 uses a rotary engine with a displacement of 1.3 liters. This performance-oriented, high-revving engine generates 159 pound-feet of torque at 5,500 rpm.
