The 2007 model year marked the beginning of the Chevrolet Avalanche's second-generation. This sport utility truck is distinct in that it's bed opens to the back seat of the truck, blurring the line between bed and cabin.

    • The standard engine offered on the four-wheel drive LS, LT1, LT2, LT3 and LTZ models was a 5.3 L V-8 with a maximum horsepower rating of 310 at 5,200 rpm and peak torque of 335 foot-pounds at 4,400 rpm.

    • The standard engine offered with the two-wheel drive LS, LT1, LT2, LT3 and LTZ trim levels of the Avalanche was a 5.3 L V-8 that produces 320 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 340 foot-pounds of torque at 4,200 rpm.

    6.0 L V-8

    • Chevrolet offered a 6.0 L V-8 engine as an option on the two-wheel drive LT3 and LTZ models, as well as on the four-wheel drive LT3 and LTZ models. This powerplant produces 366 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 380 foot-pounds of torque at 4,300 rpm.
