Canadian Honda Specifications

    • Honda has an automotive history that goes back to 1948. The company has since expanded to become recognized throughout the world over as a prominent manufacturer of cars and trucks, according to edmunds.com. Honda also releases a number of makes for the Canadian market. There are a dozen new vehicles available from Honda Canada for 2011, including three vehicles exemplifying Honda's different types of vehicles.

    Civic Coupe

    • With a base price of $18,800, the Honda Civic Coupe is an example of Honda Canada's cars. The most basic Civic trim is the DX, which features a 1.8-liter, 16-valve, four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 1799 cubic centimeters, a bore and stroke of 3.19 and 3.44 inches, respectively, and a compression ratio of 10.5 to 1. It features a five-speed manual transmission with front-wheel drive, and is capable of attaining a fuel efficiency of 31.9 miles per gallon in the city and 43.6 mph on highways. Safety specifications include dual-stage front airbags, anti-lock brakes, and a theft deterrent system. Other features that come standard include power windows, AM/FM radio with CD player, and an MP3 input jack.

    Odyssey

    • Categorized with Honda Canada's trucks, the 2011 Odyssey has a retail value of about $30,000 new. The most basic LX trim features a 3.5-liter, 24-valve, V6 engine and a five-speed-automatic transmission with Variable Cylinder Management. Fuel economy and engine performance information was not yet available as of November 2010, though information should soon be posted on the Honda Canada website once the vehicle is officially released. The 2011 Odyssey comes equipped with such safety features as four-wheel anti-lock brakes with brake assist, three-row side curtain airbags, and stability assist with traction control. Convenience features include two 12-volt power outlets, dual-zone manual air conditioning, and a CD player/radio with MP3 input jack.

    CR-Z

    • A hybrid, the 2011 CR-Z will retail for $23,490 in Canada. There is only one trim available for this coupe, which comes with a 1.5-liter, 16-valve, four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 1497 cubic centimeters, a bore and stroke of 2.87 and 3.5 inches, respectively, and a compression ratio of 10.4 to 1. The CR-Z features a close-ratio six-speed-manual transmission with front-wheel drive, though a continuously variable transmission (CVT) is also available. The CR-Z with CVT gets 42 mpg in cities and 47 mpg on the highway. Safety features include four-wheel anti-lock brakes, a security system, and stability assist with traction control. The CR-Z also comes with AM/FM radio with CD player, MP3 input jack, and audio controls mounted onto the steering wheel.
