A number of CD-R companies offer discs compatible with Compaq computers and Compaq CD writers. Memorex, Maxell and Innovera are three companies that have created a number of different styles and spindle counts of CD-Rs. CD-R discs are only recordable one time and cannot be written over. CD-R discs can have speeds up to 52X, but will only write as fast as your CD burner is capable of burning.
Innovera

Innovera offers a 80-minute 700MB disc that is compatible with Compaq computers and CD burners. Innovera spindles of 100 of these CD-Rs cost between $15 and $40 as of October 2010. Innovera also produces 24x discs in packs of 25 and 50. An even cheaper option is the 74-minute discs that come in packs of 10.
Maxell

Maxell offers a number of different CD-R spindle counts. You can purchase a spindle of five, 30, 50 or 100 CD-Rs. All discs have 700MB of storage space and are 48X speed. Maxell also offers a CD-R Pro 25 spindle with "triple-coated scratch resistance that protects the discs surface and provides a longer archival life." Maxell claims its CD-Rs can "playback in any CD recorder, burner/player, DVD player, computer drive or game console."
Memorex

Memorex has taken CD burning to a new and interesting level with color-coated blank discs. This can be a great way to categorize and store your CDs according to data, music genre or artist. Memorex also offers its standard color CDs in a 50-pack spindle. These CDs burn at a 40x rate, have 80-minute 700MB storage capacity and retail for $19.99 in October 2010.
