Cusinart Coffee Maker Instructions

Coffee makers are a staple of many households, and Cuisinart makes a wide variety of them. The models range from simple 4-cup coffee makers to larger machines with all the bells and whistles, although the basic process of making coffee is the same for most models. After all, enjoying that first cup of coffee in the morning shouldn't have to be a grueling process.

Plug the coffee maker into a wall outlet, and open the water reservoir cover on the top of the coffee maker by using your thumb and forefinger.

    • 2

Remove the coffee carafe from the thermal plate and fill with water from sink tap. Do not fill past the designated fill level marked on the carafe or the coffee will overflow while brewing.

    • 3

Pour the water into the water reservoir and place the carafe back on the hot plate.

    • 4

Open the filter basket by either pulling the basket out or swinging it into an open position depending on the Cuisinart model you own. Insert a paper coffee filter into the filter basket.

    • 5

Add coffee grounds to the filter basket. The number of cups your coffe maker can brew and the size of the filter will determine how much coffee grounds you should add to the filter. One tablespoon per cup is recommended, according to the Cuisinart Classic 12-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker manual.

Close the filter basket and press the "On" button to begin the brewing process, and wait for the carafe to fill completely before removing it from the hot plate.
