Flowers often make appropriate gifts for the new mother of a baby boy. The colorful flower bouquets liven up the hospital room where she is resting after the birth; after she leaves the hospital and heads back home with the baby, the bouquets decorate the nursery and add vivacity to the house. Purchase a pre-arranged keepsake flower bouquet as a gift for the new mother or put one together yourself or with the help of a florist.

    Pre-Arranged Bouquets

    • Florists offer pre-arranged flower bouquets to celebrate the birth of baby boys, often in keepsake containers such as toy cars, fire engines, baby wagons or pull-along toys. Another alternative is a wreath that the mother can hang from a window to announce the new birth to the whole neighborhood.

    Customized Bouquets

    • Arrange a customized flower bouquet for a thoughtful and personalized gift. Choose an arrangement of blue flowers, include the baby's birth flower or the mother's favorite blooms, or compose a bouquet according to the language of flowers. Baby's Breath, for example, carries the meaning of "happiness," while a bouquet made from red and yellow roses is used to express congratulations. Include a hand-picked gift for baby along with the bouquet, such as a teddy bear or baby blanket.

    Flower Plant

    • Consider gifting the new mother with a potted flowering plant rather than a bouquet. Rather than wilting as a bouquet would, the plant will remain and bloom for many years, becoming a treasured keepsake in the family. Select a plant with striking blue or violet-blue flowers, such as African violets, hydrangeas or some varieties of orchid, or purchase the baby boy's birth flower as a potted plant.
