Homemade Graduation Party Decorations

Graduation day is a big deal for students. It marks the end of a journey and beginning of a new one. If you plan to celebrate graduation for someone special, planning a party for them is a nice way to express your happiness for their hard work and past achievements. Although you can buy many graduation decorations at the local store, you can also craft many decorations with items that you have at home. It may take more time and effort, but with creativity and imagination, your student will walk into the room and appreciate your hard work.

Decorate your house with a graduation theme colors. Identify your graduate's school colors. Some common school colors may be navy blue, red or white, while others may be gold, silver and black. Gather as many graduation-specific items that match the colors of the graduate's schools. These items may be anything from balloons and banners to, caps, pens, trophies, certificates, awards and stickers. Place any trophies, certificates and awards on tables as centerpieces, and place any banners on the wall where the graduate and guests can see them when they enter the house.

Create a sign-in board, such as a white poster board, and hang it on the wall. Get a bucket of colored markers, and put it nearby the poster. Ask family and friends to write something special on the poster board. When guests pass by and see it, they may feel more inclined to add to the congratulatory messages that the poster displays. The purpose of the sign-in board is so that everyone can get a chance to leave their messages for the graduate, so that when he walks in, he will see many touching and fun messages from people who support him.

Gather all the graduate's school photos, good report cards, term papers, art projects and other honorable school-related material together in one area. Glue a variety of photos and past achievements together on the poster board to make a collage of the memorable moments that the graduate has spent in school. You can be creative and add inspirational messages next to the photos and projects like, "Congratulations on graduating. We are so proud of your achievements!" or "Congratulations! We love you! Best of luck with your future!" After you finish making the collage, hang it up on a wall somewhere that is easily seen by guests. When they come in the house, they can see the collage and learn a little more about the graduate and what kind of achievements he has earned in school.
