How to Add Tassels to Your Laces

When you are teaching children how to tie their shoes, it can be difficult for them to visualize which way the laces are supposed to go. One solution is to add an accessory to the laces so your children can distinguish between them more clearly. For example, you can add different colored tassels onto the ends of the laces, which is an easy solution to helping your children tie their shoes.

  Cut a 2-inch piece of red ribbon tassel in half so that you have two 1-inch sections.

  Cut a 2-inch piece of blue ribbon tassel in half so that you have two 1-inch sections.

  Stretch out two shoelaces onto a table top.

  Insert a hot glue stick into a hot glue gun, and plug the glue gun into an outlet to heat up for 5 minutes.

  Squeeze a pea-sized amount of hot glue onto the end of one shoelace, and wrap a section of red ribbon tassel around the glued end. Allow the end to cool.

  Squeeze a pea-sized amount of hot glue onto the other end of the shoelace, and wrap a section of blue ribbon tassel around the glued end. Allow the end to cool.
