Germany and The United States share a complicated working relationship. After Germany's defeat in the Second World War, the two countries remained unfriendly toward each other until the Cold War when United States provided supplies and safety to Berliners, instituted the Marshall Plan and helped bring about the fall of the Berlin Wall.
