How to Change the Lost Root Password in HP-UX 11.0
Hewlett-Packard created HP-UX 11, a Unix-based operating system that runs on HP servers. The "root" user is the Unix equivalent of a Windows administrator. All administrative tasks are accomplished by logging in as the root user. For increased security, use a different user name for any task that doesn't require root access. If you forget the root user password, reset it in single-user mode.
