How to Convert English Words to French Words

Translating English into French used to be a time-consuming chore that involved thumbing through foreign language dictionaries or phrase books. That all changed with the advent of the Internet and automatic translation sites. You can now translate text from English into French at the touch of a button. Use an online translation tool to convert entire websites, passages of text or individual words into French, or any other foreign language.

      Access the Internet and search for an online translation tool. The best-known include Yahoo Babel Fish, Google Translate and Bing Translator.

      Enter the word or phrase you wish to convert from English to French into the main dialogue box, labeled "Translate Text" or "Translate Block of Text." If you wish to translate a web page or entire website, then enter the URL address of the site into the appropriate dialogue box.

      Select "English to French" from the pull-down menu below the dialogue box. Some translation tools will automatically detect the language for translation so you only need to select the target language from the pull-down menu.

      Press the "Translate" button beside the pull-down menu.

      Cut and paste the translated text so you use it in documents, emails, social networking sites or online chat rooms.
