How to Enable GPS in Verizon Blackberry 8830 for Use With Maps

Verizon's BlackBerry 8830 World Edition uses a global positioning system (GPS) through its built in GPS antenna. Using GPS satellite signals, the phone can determine your location. Programs like BlackBerry Maps, Google Maps, and Bing Maps all use GPS to plot directions relative to your location. GPS eats battery life so the service is turned off by default. To enable it, access your BlackBerry 8830's Advanced Options menu.
