Hold the blind up at the top of the window on the metal door. Measure each side of the blind so it is an equal distance from the frame on each side, using a tape measure. For instance, if the blind is 28 inches and the window frame is 27 inches, the blind will hang over the window frame 1/4 inch on each side.
- 2
Run the level across the blinds to check for level. Make a mark with the pencil on the end of each side of the blind.
- 3
Place the left side bracket up at the mark, but inside the pencil mark. Use a pencil to mark the two holes the screws will go through. Place the right bracket up inside the pencil mark and mark the screw holes.
- 4
Drill a pilot hole on each of the screw hole marks on the metal door, using a drill with a 1/16-inch drill bit.
- 5
Place the left bracket on the door and match up the drill holes to the bracket holes. Insert the No. 8 self-tapping screw into the first hole. Use the Phillips screwdriver to turn the screw into the metal door until it is tight. Add the second screw and tighten. Repeat this step for the right side.

Place the wood faux blind in the brackets.

How to Install Faux Wood Blinds on Metal Doors
Faux wood blinds can be mounted on metal doors in much the same way you would mount the blinds on wood doors, except that it's necessary to use different hardware to secure the blinds. Whether you are mounting 1-inch-slat or 2-inch-slat faux blinds, the process will be the same.
