How to Recover Pics Deleted Off of a Cliq Phone

The Motorola Cliq is a Google Android-based smart phone with a plethora of features, such as the ability to take photos and videos. Pictures and recordings are saved on a MicroSC card, located behind the back cover. If accidental deletion has occurred, you may be able to recover card data by using various software from your computer, because deleted files are not actually overwritten initially; the space they used on the card is simply marked as available. Until something else is written over that space, the file will still be recoverable.

Turn off your phone immediately. You do not want to run the risk of information being written to the MicroSD card, which might render deleted files unrecoverable.

    • 2

Slide the back cover off by pressing down and sliding toward the bottom of the phone.

    • 3

Open the hinged retaining tab over the MicroSD card, which is located to the left of the SIM card and just below the battery. Pull the MicroSD card out.

Insert the Micro SD card into your computer's card reader and attach to an available USB port, if applicable. Some readers are internal, which means they are permanently attached. Some are portable and need to be plugged in to a USB port.

Download, install and run one of the recovery programs listed under Resources, such as TestDisk, CardRecovery, Disk Doctor's software or Micro SD Data Recovery. Follow the instructions for scanning the MicroSD card and recovering files the program deems recoverable. Make certain to recover to a separate device, such as your computer's hard drive, to protect against overwriting the files you are trying to recover.
