The Canon Pixma MP460 is a popular high-resolution printer with Bluetooth and wireless capabilities. It comes with two cartridges of ink--PG-40 Black and CL-41 Color. The Canon Pixma MP460's ink cartridges can easily be refilled instead of replaced.
- 1
Lay out newspapers or paper towels to protect your work surface.
- 2
Wear gloves to protect your fingers from ink.
- 3
Start with the black cartridge. Look at the top of the cartridge. Find a small dimple under the label.
- 4
Drill a small hole at the dimple.
- 5
Attach the needle to the syringe. Fill the syringe with 20 milliliters (ml) of black ink.
- 6
Inject ink into the newly drilled hole using the syringe. Make sure to do this slowly.
- 7
Place filled cartridge back in the printer.
- 8
Peel the label off the color cartridge. Find three holes: one at the top, and the other two next to each other (see Tips).
- 9
Drill all three holes. Make sure the hole is big enough for the syringe.
- 10
Fill a new syringe and needle with six ml of magenta ink. Place ink in appropriate hole. Repeat with cyan and yellow ink.
- 11
Place cartridge back in printer, leaving off the label.
