How to Remove a Remington 141 Forearm

The Remington 141 Gamemaster is probably the rifle collecting dust in your grandfather's gun cabinet. The Remington 141 was a redesigned model replacing the earlier Remington 14, which was first introduced in 1913. The 141 Gamemaster was introduced in 1935, typically chambered in .30, .32 and .35 Remington, then discontinued in 1950, according to Remington.com. The Gamemaster is a slide action repeating rifle that can be disassembled for cleaning purposes. Removal of the rifle fore-end can be accomplished for cleaning purposes and will only require basic tools.

      Unload the weapon completely. Visually inspect the weapon to ensure no ammunition is present.

      Remove the two fore-end take-down screws with a plastic tipped screwdriver.

      Unscrew the magazine plug-screw. Take out the plug, magazine spring and the spring follower pin.

      Push the action bar and tubular magazine to the rear, into the receiver.

      Unscrew the action bar cover-screw. Remove the action bar cover from the front end of the receiver.

      Tilt the barrel down at an angle, then take out the cartridge-stop located against the receiver. This will pull out. Pull the action bar out of the receiver. The fore-end is now removed completely from the weapon.
