How to Repair a Sansa Fuze

The Sansa Fuze is a personal MP3 player similar in size and design to the iPod. If you are having problems with the Sansa Fuze, it probably has to do with the power source or screen. Ether way, disassembly is required if you intend to fix the problem. The good news is that it doesn't take very much time to do.

Turn off your Sansa and insert the tip of your case opener tool in the seam where the front faceplate meets the body of the unit. Work your way around the sides of the unit until the faceplate separates.

Lift the faceplate slightly up but mind the thick ribbon cable that runs from the back of the faceplate to the top of the circuit board in the housing. Unplug the ribbon cable and set the front faceplate aside.

Locate the tri-colored battery cable connected to the side of the green circuit board. Check the connection to make sure it is secure. If it isn't, unplug it from its port and plug it back in, making sure it is secure. If the problem lies with the screen, proceed to step 4.

Lift the LCD screen itself up from the top to expose the orange screen cable connected to the circuit board underneath. Check the connection to make sure the cable is secure in the port. If it isn't, unplug it and plug it back in, making sure it is secure. Reverse the steps for reassembly.
