Turn the printer off. Disconnect the power cord and the computer interface cord from the back of the printer. Wait one minute, the reattach the printer's power cord (but not the computer interface cord).

Hold down the "Load/Eject" and "Cleaning" buttons at the same time, then turn the printer on. Release the two buttons once the "Paper Out" light flashes.

Press and hold the "Cleaning" button again (this time for 10 seconds) as the light is flashing. Release the button after 10 seconds, and the printer will reset.

Turn the printer off after the reset process is complete, then turn the printer off and reattach the computer interface cable. Turn the printer back on, and continue using it.

The Epson 1280 printer comes with "counters" that keep track of the number of documents printed and the amount of printing material used. To reset the counters and settings on your printer, you must perform specific action within the printer menu.
