Start your Sedona's engine and inspect the instrument cluster. Look next to the screen that displays the current mileage.

Determine if you see a light that reads "O/D Off." If you see this light, the overdrive system is currently turned off. If you don't see the light, the overdrive system is already turned on.

On the left side of the gear-shift handle, you'll see a small button marked "O/D." This is the button used to toggle between "Overdrive On" and "Overdrive Off." Push the button to turn on the overdrive. If overdrive was already on, pushing the button turns it off.

How to Turn the Kia Sedona Overdrive System On
The overdrive system in the Kia Sedona introduces the fifth driving gear in the van's automatic transmission. Kia recommends leaving the overdrive on at all times, unless you are driving on a downward slope. You can easily turn the overdrive on or off, using the overdrive button on the gear shift. But first you'll want to verify whether it's on or off.
