How to View Flash Files on Windows Mobile 6.1

The Flash platform delivers interactive content across the web, from animated video to complex web interfaces and applications. Windows Mobile 6.1 does not come with a built-in way to view Flash files and information, however Adobe offers a Flash player for Windows Mobile devices that plays Flash files from within the operating system's included browser. Since Adobe does not provide the newest version of Flash for Windows Mobile 6.1, some content created for newer versions of the software may display incorrectly or not at all.

Download the "Flash Player for Pocket PC" installation file from Adobe's website (see Resources). The file is distributed in a CAB package, which must be transferred to the Windows Mobile device before using.

Connect the Windows Mobile device to the computer using the included USB cable. Wait for the syncing software to open. If you do not have syncing software installed, Microsoft offers ActiveSync for Windows XP users, and Windows Mobile Device Center for Windows 7 and Vista users, as free downloads on Microsoft's website (see Resources).
