How to Turn Palm Centros All the Way Off

One aggravating feature of most modern smart phones is how hard it is to easily shut them down completely using the keypad or other buttons. This holds true for the Centro from Palm. Like other devices, holding down the "Power" button on the Centro merely turns off the screen. This is the closest the Centro comes to having an "Off" switch. Luckily, there is a way to get your Centro to shut down completely.

  Turn the Centro over to reveal the rear battery cover.

  Press on the top of the battery cover and slide it down to remove it. This may take some effort, but it should easily slide away from the casing of the phone.

  Remove the battery. It should lift out easily, but you may need to gently pry up the left side with your fingernail. Slide the battery out of the phone to deactivate your Palm Centro completely.
