How to Uninstall the Programs That Do Not Want to Uninstall

Some software programs are difficult to uninstall due to issues such as corrupt files and improper installation. An error message reading "An error occurred while trying to remove program. Uninstallation has been canceled" may appear when you are unable to uninstall a certain program. Fortunately, you can use other tools that are native to your PC to uninstall programs. It is crucial to remove software applications that are erratic and affect the performance of your system.

  Click the Windows "Start" menu in the bottom left corner of the desktop. Type "Regedit" in the search field and press "Enter." This will open the Registry Editor.

  Navigate to the following registry key:

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

  Locate the folder of the program that you wish to uninstall under the "Uninstall" folder.

  Right-click the program's folder and click "Delete." Confirm the removal of the folder if the "Are you sure... ?" prompt appears. Exit the Registry Editor. Reboot your system.
