Labeling
- 1
Cut a strip of masking tape large enough to write on.
- 2
Press it smoothly over the item you would like to mark.
- 3
Use permanent marker to label your item, particularly if the item labeled is going into storage.
Painting
- 1
Cut a strip of masking tape large enough to cover the area immediately above or below where you plan on painting. This is usually the ideal way to create a professional looking trimming in your home by applying the tape to your baseboard.
- 2
Run your paint brush or roller directly above the masking tape. Do not worry if paint gets on the masking tape. When the tape is removed, the underlying surface will be paint-free.
- 3
Remove the masking tape in a diagonal motion while the paint is still fresh. This will avoid peeling the paint. Good quality paint will not drip or seep down.
