Ideas for Making Card Boxes

• Card boxes are used for many purposes, including weddings, holding Christmas cards or storing birthday cards. They can be made various different ways and from different materials, such as cardboard or shoe boxes. You can easily create a card box of your own using some paint or gift wrap.

Pictures

• Decorate a shoe box or a larger box with photos. A wedding card box can be covered with pictures of the couple on the inside and outside of the box. Wrap the whole box in tissue paper first so it does not look like a shoebox.

Cards

• Make a card box out of the previous cards that you have received. Cut them apart and make a card collage box out of them. Shoe boxes work well for this, because the box that is already made and all you have to do is decorate it. Decorate the lid as well, since you will keep the cards in this box for some time.

• Make a house out of your card box. Glue pieces of cardboard onto the lid of the box to make the lid, place the lid on and cut a slit on one side of the box. This is where you slide the cards through, like a mail slot. Decorate the house however you want, such as with doors, windows or other artistic effects. Paint on the house to add color.

• Wrap your card box up like it is a gift. This is perfect for holding holiday cards since gifts are typically given during this season, and people send cards to loved ones with greetings and updates on their lives. Put a big, decorative bow on the top to mimic a gift.
