How to Layer a Photograph

One of the most basic and essential photo-editing techniques is the ability to use layers. Layers give you control over your photograph but will also protect your original image from harmful edits, as this remains unchanged. Once you have created your new layer you are free to experiment with the different effects and adjustments available to you. By layering a photograph you can create a variety of visually pleasing effects and enhance the overall appearance of your photograph.
