How to Open Flip Phones

If you want to diagnose problems or change the housing of your flip phone, you can open it without the help of a technician. You can easily remove the exterior even if you don't know much about electronics.

  Turn off your phone and slide the battery door off of the unit. Remove the battery and set it aside.

  Find and remove any screws on the corners of the LCD screen on the flip side of the phone. If they are covered by rubber pads, use the tip of your screwdriver or your fingers to remove the pads.

  Close the phone and use your fingers to pry the top housing off of the phone and set it aside. Your flip phone is now open.
